VictorianLachlan Norris has won the 2012Caterpillar Underground Mining Tour of Tasmania.

Norris riding forDrapac Professional Cycling, took out the tour’s overall title, easily holding onto his lead gained instage three.

The last stage wasmarred by a nasty fall when New Zealand’sSamuel Hoganwas taken to hospital with a suspected broken arm and jaw.

The tour concluded today with akermesse through the streets of Devonport in whichQueensland’s Jay McCarthy won.

The start and finish line for today’s race was on Bluff Road with riders following a circuit past Coles Beach, North St, James St and North Fenton st.

Riders completed 12 laps of the 4.3km course.

Launceston’s Ben Grenda won stage sevenofthe Tour of Tasmania yesterday – the Burnie Criterium.

Grenda won in a bunch sprint from Alex Wohler in secondplace and Scott Law in third.
